In April 2023, Eastern Washington University's (EWU) Cyber Defenders won the National Centers of Academic Excellence (NCAE) Cyber Games in Tampa, Florida. The team, coached by Stu Steiner, the director of the EWU Cybersecurity Program, scored 6,274 points and beat the University of Florida by seven points.
